Well my true percula just started hosting my rose anemone last week and the very top orange portion of his body is getting very dark now...brown looking. Is this a problem or just growing changes with the fish? please let me know...thanks!

I think its just growing changes because I have percula thats about 3 1/2 inches long and his back is a little brown but more of a darker orange and he is with a little one about 1 1/2 inches long and he is all orange.

I am interested in the answer also. I bought 2 ocellaris clowns the same size in February. One of my clowns is starting to get a little bigger than the other one and also darker (more of a brownish on top). I was wondering if this one has changed into a female. The other one is still a bright orange color.:notsure:

It takes a couple of years for some Clownfish to achieve their adult coloration. It has nothing to do with male/female.
Sometimes nematocysts from the host will create black spots on the scales also.
