clownfish have black dots

i was on vacation for 3days when i returned my pair of ocellaris clowns have black dots over them
HELP

could possibly be black ich. although it is not commin in clown fish, anything is possibility. black ich is usually seen on yellow tangs. can you post a pic?

i think you mean flukes. Its not ick but some type of worms. Those black dots could be freckles...common on clowns.

it is some tpe of worm, but it is referred to as black ich. i had it on my yellow tang and it is easily treatable. Good luck and it is prob nothin

It's normal for Clownfish to develop black spots if they have a stinging host. It's not Black Ick or any other parasite.

Im thinking its just a few freckles. ISnt it natural for them to get these as they mature? Im pretty sure it isnt flukes or any other parasites. That has to be the only explanation. I could be wrong thought:notsure:

not to intrude but my clown has no stinging host but the only stinging coral i have in my tank is a hammer and he goes no where near that that ive seen.he has had these spots for several months.bang could you please tell me what these are.

I think your Clownfish visits your Hammer Coral once in a while... Could be wrong but the only time I've seen these discoloration has been the result of Nematocysts. The spots are harmless.
Your Clown does look a bit undernourished though...

i feed once a day rotating these foods.i used to feed twice a day but was told this was overfeeding.
-emrald entree(frozen)
-marine cuisine(frozen)
-omega 3 brine shrimp(frozen)
-squid(frozen)
-spirulina flake food
-pellets
-prime reef(frozen)
-formula 1 frozen(frozen)
does this seem undernourished?

ok, i agree
what do i have to do to beefen him up any more.i am wondering this because i had 2 fish die in from whati think to be skinnyness.
