OMG I just looked over and saw my 2 percs (or false) liplocked and doing summersaults....what's going on? One of them looks like it is missing a piece of its lip (if they have lips) What should I do?

Hi Meowser, how long have you had them?
Usually when they lock mouths it is 2 females, if one or both are getting injured they should be separated for thier own good.

HELLO!!! Well I have had them for about 4 months...they have been inseperable, and still don't leave each tohers side...all of a sudden i notice them fighting....I thought they change --- though? Anyway these are in the 54g....I already have 2 in the 225g.

Have they ever fought before to this extent? Were they purchased a juvinelles? I know this is sometimes common w/maroons the grow our method of pairing dosen't always work. As they mature it is common for one to attach maybe kill the other. Little squabbles are common but taking a chunk out of it's lip not. When they get an injury there is a possibility of a bacterial infection so watch them and if you see them fighting again quickily turn off the lights, this will stop the fight and you may need to seperate them.

LOL, funny you said that, when the lights went out they stopped. I will watch them. Like I said these are in the 54g and I already have 2 in the 225g...what would happen if I put a third in the 225g? The ones in the 225g "love" eachother.
I guess I will have to see tomorrow night..tomorrow is back to work Monday's yuck....
Goodnight ...

I would not add a third, it will upset the pair you already have in the 225. Just keep a watchful eye on them if it continues you'll have to seperate them but maybe they'll settle down. I hate watching fish fight, but when pairing it is inevitable.
I just read a fantastic book by Joyce Wilkerson "Clownfishes" you should pick up a copy, you'll learn so much about these fascinating fish we keep.

Well the only way I could seperate them is to give one away then....I didn't want to add a third to the 225g anyway..The 2 I have in there, now they "really" like eachother...LOL
This morning they seemed like buds again...LOL....I will watch the one with the cut lip carefully...how do I know if it gets an infection? Will it be obvious? Can any other fish catch it? How would I treat it? hmmm let me think if I can add any more questions...LOL
