Hi, and welcome. You sound like your off to a good start. for fish, stay small, firefish, bi-color blenny or tail spot would work good. Also clown gobies.
I have never seen slate used in a saltwater, but you might google key largo shelf rock. That might give you the look you want.
Good luck

My intake tubing got lost in the shuffle of moving, and i have no clue where it is, so since its cheap i went ahead and just ordered a new intake tube. It should be here tomorrow ( fingers crossed!)

Also with the slate rock i think im goin to put small pieces of my live rock on it so its easier to attach corals :)
I also have a funny story to tell all of you about where i got my rock :) :p haha Its pretty legit.
We went on a cruise 2 years ago to the bahamas. On the beach there was TONS of washed up, dried out rock. It all looked like the kind of rock that you woudl want in your fishtank. But i dont know if any of you have ever been on a cruise or out of the country... but its very much frowned upon to take rocks or really ANYTHING back on to the boat, or plane, or whatever.. you not suppose to. But i couldnt resist. all i could think was wow... this would look aweome in my tank! please understand i would have NEVER taken rock out of the ocean that was in a reef or anything, but it was dry washed up rock. so here i was 5 foot 3 about 120lbs... i carried 200lbs of rock back to the boat, somehow made it through customs, put it in my suitcase and made it home with all of it. ahaha :p i took it home, cured it, and put it all in my 75 gallon tank :) :p
