Thanks!!
I will watching your progress too!!
Well, I made a grand purchase of equipment from out of state. So next week some time I should have the following:
MRC CR1 Single Calcium Reactor
Reeflo Dart Pump
AETech Sump Buddy 60 In-Sump Skimmer
Mag 9.5 Pump
Mag 2 Pump
3 - Hydor Koralia Magnum 4 Powerheads
I can't wait for all this to show up, Christmas in July!!!
I started building the stand for my sump/refugium behind the wall where the 125 sits. So I should have some updated pics tomorrow.

Pic of stand that I am building for the sump, refugium, pumps, protein skimmer etc on the other side of the wall behind the 125 gallon aquarium. Still have a way to go. Plus I drilled a 40 gallon breeder and painted it today to use as a refugium. I decided to use both a sump and refugium separately so I can control the flow a little better. The window is going to be insulated and covered.

Thanks!
Put the top plywood on today and gave it all a good coat of paint. Then set the refugium and sump in place. The refugium is drilled and painted ready to go. Still waiting on my bulkheads for the sump. Had to order some larger ones to handle the flow. So I am at a stand still to later next week.

Hey wild Man you have a tank build thread looks like you are coming along nicely. One comment you'll want to place a thin sheet of styrofoam under the DT to keep it level at the base.

I actually do have styrofoam on top of the stand. I like to put it under all my aquariums that I have put up in the past. I also put it under the sump and refugium. When I rebuilt the stand and made it capable of carrying the load I also put heavy duty leveling feet on it to fine tune the level of the stand before putting the aquarium on it.

Question:
I have been looking for a decent light fixture for the refugium. I see a lot of people use the clip on lights with the fluorescent curly bulbs. Since I have never been a big fan of those light fixtures I would really like to avoid them. I also see that people use 6500k, is that the best for the algae in the sump? I thinking of going with LED if I can and try one of the cheaper models with 3 watt bulbs.
24 LEDs
3 watt LED
3240 Lumen
24x 6500K LEDs
The refugium after the sand bed will only have a water depth of approximately 10".
That should work, shouldn't it?

Seams way over kill, but if you find it cheep enough. I got the set up that you don't like for under $10.

Yeah, when I was younger I almost had a house fire with one. Let's just say if I bought another one I don't think I could sleep at night knowing its going 24/7. lol

Now you make worry, what was the cause. I'm going to have a timer and run it opposite of the DT about 12hrs.

Don't trust the clip! No matter how stable you think they are, do something as a secondary precaution to make sure it won't fall. I got lucky that mine didn't fall into a tank, but it landed face down on carpet and got home to a house full of smoke.
On a good note I got my old RO/DI out and cleaned up. Last time I used it was on the farm I lived on. Man, I forgot how crappy the water was out there. Took a lot of scrubbing! I put a new membrane and housing on it, TDS meter, still waiting on the new cartridges.

Wild Man thanks for that info, will definitly secure the fixture and add a safty rope as well.
No problem, that sounds like a good idea.

I started getting a holding tank for saltwater setup today. Got the 65 gallon plastic tank from TSC and started plumbing it with a external pump (Mag 5) so I could either use the pump for mixing the saltwater or pumping it to the sump. I got everything plumbed and started the pump after I dumped my 20 gallons of RO/DI water in there, everything was working perfectly. When I shut it off I noticed a small trail of water towards the floor drain. The front section of the pump has a crack in it. So I had to order the replacement part at an online supplier. So now the front of my storage tank is up on blocks to keep the water from leaking out. lol
