No... the boards were getting slammed with spam because (I suspect) spam bots were able to create new members too easily and could spam the boards. The seahorse forum was getting hammered so bad they had to shut it down temporarily.
The new version of vBulletin supports image verification so it's harder for bots to sign up members and spam.

Yeah! (I know it wasn't my idea) but I'd been emailing them periodically to set up an image verification system.

Anyone know of plans to add back the links at the left? I already miss those for quick referencing fish.

Yeah, it's also helpful when someone asks something like "how much sand should I have?" - I would normally point them to the LR/LS button.

Keep posting the things you like and don't like. We'll make sure Admin gets feedback.
To quell any rumors to the opposite, yes this is an upgrade. The spam bots were winning the war against us Mods, so for the good of the community Admin upgraded the forums to the latest version.
