. BUt the training anywhere in the country is not high enough for my liking.
So does this mean that the average cop shouldnt be able to obtain a CC permit? I am fully confident in my abilities with a weapon, but I know for a fact that there are military personell as well as law enforcement that should be baking cookies for a living and not be in this here gun club. If I designed the CC course it would end up being a 2 week in house course where Everyone that wanted a CC permit would have to attend including the Sheriff himself.

THIS is why I love this country and defended her “Anyone on here carry concealed? I've been doing a little bit of shopping around lately and fell in love with Springfields XD-9 subcompact. Personally it fits the bill perfectly for what I'm looking for... I'm mainly looking for something my wife can have while I'm gone, but versitile for a concealed carry as well. I think my alternate is Sig's single stack .45 but I don’t want too much gun if my wife is going to be using it as well.” That’s the post that started this on going discussion and we are all free to discuss it

But training does fall into it. Training does not just mean using the wepon. It can mean training in shoot dont-shoot and stuff like that.
Lets get the quote right, I would execute someone who pointed a gun at me to steal something. It's not because they stole, insurance will cover that. I am not willing to forgive someone who deliberatly put my life in danger so yes, I would shoot them if I had a chance.

You are probably talking about the Sig239, which is what i carry on and off duty. Truthfully i would recommend the .40 cal. The .45 is just too big, if for your wife might be a little powerful to shoot. And with the .40 you will get a couple more rounds.

Reefraff, i agree if someone points a gun at you SHOOT THEM and KILL them. But once they run away then the threat to YOUR life is gone. So if you are in immediate danger then shoot!

See we do have the same overall view. CC is fine, but training and Safety should come first.

On a technical matter, Nasa scientists proved that cloud-to-ground lightning is far more likely to strike the same place twice than we had initially thought

Well, I've been thinking about buying my first gun. I'm more looking for something that is fun to go shoot at the range. It won't be a EDC. (I don't know if knife lingo works for guns too) I mean lets be serious, I doubt I'll be ever in a situation I'll need to use it in self defense. But it would be fun to have a hobby that hones your skills too. ( I don't have enough of one with fish tanks)
What would yall suggest getting.

I would start with a nice 22 something you can have fun with and not pay a lot for ammo Ruger makes a nice 22-target pistol

Correct me if I'm wrong but Walther (paired w/S&W I believe) did the P22... I've heard good that it was a pretty good gun.
