I've been reading the dsb/bare-bottom/shallow sandbed debates too. Very interesting stuff. Maybe we'll all end up going back to ugf's :eek: not that I was in the hobby then, just a baby. I love this hobby, but I dont' think we'll ever master it.

There is no question in my mind that remote DSB's work provided they are proportionally large in comparison the the display. If you can get a DSB with at least 1/2 the footprint of the display then there's no need for a DSB in the display. This "Guy" theory doesn't apply to tanks smaller than a 55 though. I really don't think small DSB's are viable long term.
