Cooked cocktail shrimp

I've always fed my fish uncooked shrimp, but I got a 5lb bag for free from work due to a miss order. Is this anything that I could feed my fish or would it be unhealthy for them? These shrimp are cooked unlike the ones I normally feed.

Yes you can feed it to your fish.It just means that some of the neutrients have need boiled out of the shrimp. But it is still food.I feed it to mine sometimes. Not all the time. But your 5 pound bag will be fine.

The only reason I was told NOT to feed cooked shrimp to my ray was (as stated above) that the nutrients cook out of it, BUT I have also been told that sometimes their are additives...so be careful of what preservatives may be in it....

One of the reasons suggested against feeding cooked is because of the unknowns when they were cooked. Did they have any seasonings applied? How where they cooked? Shrimp are usually boiled, but could a bit of EVOO been added to the water? Because we have no real idea what the effects of those things do to fish.

.......sure isn't worth the risk, just for a few pounds of free shrimp. Give the cocktail shrimp (Don't you like them?) to your boss or to a soup kitchen...they would love them.

Yeah I do eat a bunch of them. My brother's home from law school for break and I'm sure between him and the rest of the family we'll finish them. They were actually given to me from my boss because they are the wrong type of shrimp that we use for a dish.
