Copepods in the Sump to the DT

Here is my question I know people say that if you have a sump full of pods that some will get sucked into the DT. By giving them a safe place to multiple and no predators will eat them that you will be able to substain a decent population..and so on
So I have 55 DT and a 20 gallon sump full of cheato and live rock rubble. Its infested with pods of all sorts somr of the little buggers are 1/4 in and fat.
I want to get some of them in my DT, but I have a mag 9.5 with the filter sock. Is this stopping any from getting pumped up? Do people run there pumps with out the prefilter on there? What is everyone recommendations?

I just have a QuiteOne and a hose attached that brings my water though U.V then into the tank. It must bring some pods sense my Scooter blenny is still alive and well.

You could just take a piece of Live rock from the sump and throw it in the DT.
At the same time, take a piece of rock from he DT and throw it in the sump.
Evey so often just switch the rocks back and forth so the the rock that's in the sump will get covered w/ pods, then you put it int he DT. then you take the rock from the DT that has no pods anymore, and put it in the sump so it can get pods again...
That should work.

I removed the sock on mine and put a screen on it. Although since then I have completely destroyed my pod population by nearly crashing my tank.
