coral banded shrimp crash

I was moving my coral banded shrimp today and it lost one of it's large pinchers. Will it die or what will happen to it. It is in a QT now so I can watch it. Any help will be great.

It will be just fine. When it molts a new one will start to grow back. I had this happen to me when I bought a new one and as they were bagging it they pulled off a pincher in the net. So patience and I would just leave it in the original tank, no need to do anything special with it.

thanks Debbie I feel alot better now. but is it hurting?

They often lose appendages. Not to worry, he'll grow it back. I don't think they suffer much pain when it's lost. Kind of like grabbing a skink by the tail.

I don't think they feel pain but I am not sure either. But it will grow a new one before you know it....

Yeah mine has lost his pinchers a couple of times when he molts. New one grows back in a couple of molts.

I had the same thing happen, had it a couple of days, noticed a claw broken, and in about another 2-3 days it molted, and the claw was back. During that time it seemed just fine, so I saw no signs of it being bothered at all....
