I picked up a coral beauty two weeks ago. He is currently in QT along with a royal gramma. Both fish are showing normal behavior, roaming the tank, looking for food, etc. They are both eating.
The coral beauty has 4 white spots, all located on the edge of his fins. I've watched them closely, and it's been nearly a week and they have been left unchanged. None are present on the gramma. Is it safe to assume this is not a case of ich, but rather Lymphocystis?
Unfortunately, the coral was netted (not by me). I did notice two of his fins had slight splits in them after putting him in QT. Could these be spots simply healing? I'm debating treating with hypo.
I've attached a photo, it's difficult to get a better shot. You can see the white on the edge of the lower back fin.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
