Coral Beauty in reefs

Can we do a kind of an unofficial poll? How many people have - or have had - Coral Beauties in their Reefs and how many of these people had problems with the fish eating corals. I'd love to get one, but would just like to see what the success rate is with that! :cheer:

I have had mine for over two years in my reef without any problems. I have a large tank w/ lots of LR and the CB just cruises all day picking at everything to see if its something it can eat. Rocks, sand, snail shells, and even some of the corals. Its what they do. If theres not enough space and rock, ect. to spread out the searching area then they will pick the same corals more often to maybe a point to where it bothers the corals too much. But I never seen it eat corals.

I have them both in my tank and they dont like each other but they just tolerate each other. The Flame acts just like a CB only with a little more attitude. You must have a big tank to have them both IMO.

I have one. He nips at my Xenia. I don't know if it's a problem, but I have way too much Xenia anyway.

Not in small tanks. In small tanks (4' range) there is a high likelihood they will fight. Not always, but a good chance.
I had a coral beauty for 2 weeks in my tank before I banished it for being a royal pain in the rear. No interest shown in any corals, and it had been in 2 prior reef tanks for at least a year before I got her with no issues.
But it will definitely be hit or miss. Personalities vary.

My coral beauty and flame angel get along OK in a 55 gallon tank. They had their spats at first but now coexist peacefully. In my experience with them, the tendency of Centropyge angels to nip at corals/inverts is greatly overblown as I have had no problems with coral beauties, flame, bicolor, or lemonpeel angels in reef tanks.

Dolphinfish, Mahi-Mahi, or Dorado in Mexico. Latin is Coryphaena hippurus. Dorado is native to all warm waters of the world. They are one of the fastest growing fish in the ocean. The picture is of a bull (male) that weighed about 50 lbs.

I have had absolutely no problems with my coral beauty I would just say that I wouldn't do one as one of your first fish for they are very territorial so I would put them in close to your last fish. Great fish you will be very happy.
