:D Your getting closer...
Actually it's a Sphaerella krempfi or "Sphincter" coral...
(Medusa and Christmas tree are common names)
Thing is most all the corals named DO look so similar (and the LFS often "misnames" there coral), that if you didn't have one of each or several to compare it's easy to get them mixed up...
That's why I applaud NM reef on reviving the coral of the month...:cheer:
With enough exposure to specific corals (complete with pictures and identifying characteristics) this can become an excellent 'reference" to our new additions...

I'll try to get a pic up later when it's "closed up"...
Then you'll know how it got it's name...:D

Good stuff...next week I hope to put another COTM together...hopefully these threads will continue to provide some info & pics for future reference. But...I'm not the most knowledgeable individual...so if any member in good standing wants to develop a thread for consideration feel free to email me your idea and we'll go from there. I believe participation from members will greatly benefit these threads and I would like to actively encourage interested members in submitting COTM threads. But first I'd like to be able to review them to insure they follow some fairly basic guidelines.
