What exactly did he do? He was horrible down the stretch. His W-L percentage as a starter is 6-5, one game ABOVE 500. Beldsoe was 3-3....and part of the third loss ROmo contributed too in the second half.
Greatness can be defined by key moments in big games ...so can failure. Romo is 0-1 but has time to turn it around since he is young.
Romo failed his first test..so have other great players. Great....I doubt it. Not what I saw down the stretch.

Romo was not in the same neighborhood with great this year. If you conducted Pro Bowl voting now I doubt seriously he would be voted in.
What exactly did he do? Down the stretch inimportant games he could not beat the Saints (played poorly), choked agains Philly (played poorly) and had a poor game against Seattle 9BIG CHOKE)......who limped into the playoffs.
He can turn it around...we'll have to see.

I will respond to Oceanists as he is not one of the aforementioned
. Romo CONTRIBUTED greatly to the loss but no more so than Parcells, Witten and Glenn. Even if we make that field goal, i am 95% sure we lose. With our secondary and their kicker, no way that we stop them with over a minute left and a timeout. Parcells should have went for it on 4th down. All year we have gone for it instead of taking a "sure" 3 but Bill panicked because it was late in a playoff game.
Romo made a huge mistake but without him we would have lost 35-3. He was running for his life almost every single play. If Bledsoe was in, he would have been sacked 10 times at least. If we got the same pressure on Hasselback that they got on Romo, we win easily. That being said, we arent Indy. Our supposed dynasty isnt getting older and older without sniffing a title. We now have a young quarterback and can build a line for him next year and see what he is really made of. No matter how this season ended, Cowboy fans go into next season with more hope than we have had in a long time 100% because of Romo.

The Eagles could beat the SAints...although the mission gets a little harder for them without Lito SHeppard.

Pure specualtion..they may have still been in the playoffs as I thought they were about 8-8 going into the season. Many share your opinion. I am not convinced Bledsoe would not have gotten them in.
Botton line IMO...regardless of the QB...Dallas was about 500 regardless of the starter. They finished 9-8. it was the long haul which proved the overall talent on the team could not be elevated by the QB play....if you thought as I did Dallas was about an 8-8 team.
All of this is just my dorky opinion which does not matter.
Dallas does have a solid base with a few really good players at key positions. I do feel they did not attack seattle . They kept Seattle in the game with thier gameplan. It appeared to me Parcells did not have as much confidence as others in letting Romo throw 35-40 balls...although that beat up patched up secondary dictated...that was the point to attack.

so your saying that the cowboy offense wasnt stacked... i think earlier in this thread it was mentioned by a certain cowboys fan that - the cowboys have one of the best ground games a real 1 -2 punch, one of the best recieving corps and a solid O line and now with the hottest qb in the league the cowboys are gonna be tough to beat -... funny how waffling works...

Both teams played bad.....Seattle just came out on top in the end.
I sure hope the Colts defense can play Baltimore like they did Kansas City....if so, we have a good chance.
Could be another Patriots/Indianapolis AFC Championship game.......

You have the Parcells old school philosphy....run the ball and play solid defense. Well, he has no solid defense although the running game is pretty good. His offense scheme lacks imagination and does not really pressure defenses.
he actually wants to use three RB's. That tells me his emphasis is runnig the ball first ......which is why Romo only put 29 balls in the air against that beat up secondary.
In the playoffs, coaches appear to fall back on their deep rooted philosphy...which sometimes can be the reason for a playoff loss. You have to be willing to step out of the box....if the situation dictates.

that would be SWEET!!! although someone really needs to let Bill Belichick know that Banta-Cain isnt a LB... he plays from a 3 pt stance an awful lot...

It appeared to me the COlts D was playing with a chip on thier shoulder. Hopefully, they can carry this through. I suspect that will be difficult to do....but, if they play close to the same level...they'll be tough to beat provided Manning plays solid.

AP All-Pro Team announced. Only Dallas player to make second team is Ware at OLB.......... in name only.
Brees beats out Manning for first team at QB. That had to be a real close vote.
