Good luck, and you've gotten past one of the hardest parts, actually starting to loose weight (the other being keeping it off). Once the doctor told me I had to loose weight because my blood pressure was borderline high, I went on a diet and exercised. A year and a half later I had lost 70lbs and was doing great physically. Of course, I've been gaining weight again, almost got back 30lbs of it..... so it's not easy to get it gone and keep it gone. Hope you work it all out!

so i stepped on the scale today.
it says: 259.4
perplexed, i move it and restep on it.
this reading: 263.1
um...
something isnt right.
so, somehow from monday to today, i've packed on 3.5 lbs.
wtf.
oh well. weigh in is a weigh in.
Weigh in:
259.4
from last week: + 3.5
ytd: +3.5
better luck this week.

well, there can be a lot to do with that. What did you eat over the weekend? Did you eat anything with a lot of sugar or alcohol? Both those can make you retain a lot of water. I find it very unlikely that you actually gained 3 pounds in a week. Try getting some dandelion root from GNC. It is very inexpensive and helps to rid excess water gently. It cost like 7 dollars for 100 count. Just don't take more than one a day.

Keep on keeping on . I fluctuate from day to day about 2 pounds and I can fluctuate +/- 5 pounds in a weeks time .Don't get discouraged .

i hope he didnt fall off the wagon.
funny i ran across this post.i just got back from the gym drank a protien drink and i am sitting here eating a red bell pepper.
i have been bodybuilding for over 20 years and being around all kinds of people at the gym i have learned for certain .weightlifting isnt for everyone i see them come and go.especially in febuary new years resolution.
i love lifting weights but i you are not enjoying it and find an excuse not to go only one time its over.
my advice is to find a sport maybe racketball, team basketball something that gets your heartrate up and your body will respond .try a sport if you dont like it try another till you find something you like we are all competitive .
diets are proven not to work in the long run it messes with the metabalism.
eating less calories will slow down metabolism then when you cheat it will turn to fat faster than before the diet.
look at opera she has all the money in the world and lost alot of weight a couple years ago now she's a monster.
starving will lose weight but sacrificing muscle with it.
a change of lifestyle is tough but worth it in the long run.
hopefully you have friends and family to support you and want you around for a long time.great motivater
good luck
