cowrie difference?

I have read a couple threads that a I should get a tiger cowrie to help with hair algae

. What is the difference between a deer cowrie and a tiger cowrie? Is it just the type of shell?

who told u that cowrie eats hair algae? a sea hare eats hair algae.

i read it on this sight. and I have had 2 sea hairs and they don' last longer than 1 wk and I have more than enough algae.

I just looked up both of them on this site, and could not see where it said they eat HA
Do you have any emerald crabs? Sally light foot? Mexican turbo snails?

I had bad luck with sea hares at first too.....but now I have one...and NO MORE HA YAYYY

yes I have 3 emerald crabs if they havent become the triggers lunch. I thought it would be worth a try they are cool looking. does any one know the diff?

LOL...I didn;t know you had a trigger......so in other words you are limited to your cuc hmmmm

tiger cowries are extremely effective at eating hair algae so are sea hares. Cowries are not IMO reef safe
