Cowrie snails

I got a couple cowrie snails yesterday. Are they good eaters? Any better than turbos?

My LFS says they they are strictly herbavores, but I swear he was eating my star polyps, so I put him in my FOWLR tank. There are small button polyps in there and I swear he is eating them. Maybe just my imagination.

I don't think you are imagining anything. I just read that they are reef safe with caution. My books at home say that are reef safe with no mention of caution. I hate it when my sources of information aren't on the same page.

I should have know. The LFS guy swore these were the reef safe kind. I will stop by today to quiz him on how he knows.

Yea, I think I got wrong information also! I am 99% sure mine is a tiger cowie. I dont know if there are more than one variety that appear simular though.
