LOL.....I have tried EVERYTHING.....and I have the internal and external bubble trap....maybe I just got a defective unit

I think if we turn that tube tomorrow, and it works.....I'm gonna see if I can return the dumb $22 external diffuser....why not

Heck yea, I would.
"IF" you do need some type of sponge, I would just place a sponge on the outlet pipe directly. I can't see how you would have a bubble issue IF you turned the output upward and placed a sponge on it.
I have built air lift pumps with a sponge on the outlet just to stop salt creep and I never had any bubble problems with those.
I used a sponge from one of the cascade internal filters on my builds. I'm not sure if it was the 400 or not. I just don't recall. Never the less, it will fit right on the output and the flow will have to go through it if you keep the output turned upward. I would cut it in half since they are long. (mine was) Should be a rock solid fix????

UPDATE....OK....the stupid bubble diffuser worked BUT The sponge is clogged already....and if you think I am taking the dumb thing apart 2x a week
FORGET IT
SOOOOO I took it off.....turned the pipe up...as in Posiden's thread...and WHALLA....that worked too

SOOO...I am leaving the diffuser off.....thrown another $22 away....but...for now....bubbles are being broke at water level YAYYYYY
