so heres the thing. Ive been looking for a new large tank for about a year now on cl and everything i find is crap or overpriced for used things and you basically get what you pay for. Im looking for a new "show tank" and i really cant find one.
I looked on e bay and i found a realllyyyyy nice 560 gallon custom glass aquarium.. well heres the add. as you can tell from the title, its only flaw is that its cracked.
:NOTE THIS ITEM IS DAMAGED AND NEEDS REPAIR: FINAL SALE NO WARRANTIES,
Custom made Glass Aquarium L 120" x W 36" x H 30". Never used, clean and on the shipping crate. 3/4 "Starfire clear glass front with two internal overflow boxes. 2" drain and 1 1/2 "returns in each overflow box. Background and overflow boxes are black. Euro brace, frameless tank with additional glass supports inside on bottom.
THE BOTTOM GLASS PANEL IS CRACKED IN THREE AREAS AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OR HAVE AN ADDITIONAL PANEL ADDED.
Originally selling for $7,500.00. The tank weighs approximately 1400Lbs and will have to be picked up and removed by the winning bidder in ******** Seller must arrange pick up within one week of auction close.
All are welcome to come by and view the tank first hand. Zip code ***** e mail for directions.
The tank has glass perimeter bracing on top and additionally on the inside bottom panel. This bottom perimeter bracing helps to hold the bottom panel together.
Ideal "as is" for a reptile tank. 3/4 Glass all sides. "
my question is that do you think this tank is worth getting for 1000 bucks (maybe talked down) and then getting a new bottom pane for it? Would this be ok or do you think I run a big risk of it leaking, done professionaly of course? anyone have a ballpark range on the cost of something like this?
Any othe ideas?
thanks!!!
