critters in my tank!

I just put the live sand and a couple of live rocks into my new 32 gal tank yesterday and this morning when I woke up there were a bunch of little critters swimming around in my tank! I wish a could show you a picture, but they look a lot like a tadpole with what appears to be a big head that tails off and then they "jet" around, or just let the current take them. any idea what these things are or if I need to kill them off? by the way they are white and about the size of a grain of my live sand. and they dont stick to the glass

I don't know exactly what they could be, but you'll get all kinds of hitch-hiking critters from LS and LR.

Sounds like Copepods of some type to me. They are beneficial.

sounds like Mysys shrimp to me. Beneficial pod that your fish will love to eat. Probably came in on some LR.
