I have had pulsing xenia in my tank for about 3 years and up until about 3 months ago it was thriving and growing. Recently my colonies started to crash one by one. What conditions have people found work best for growing them?

Ok,
I know this thread is old but wanted to know the best way to harvest Xenia. Mine are quickly dividing but don't know how to detatch from the rocks to trade them or even move them around the tank.
Thanks,

if you dont wanna cut the stalk.. Can sometimes be a pain..
you can just grasp te xeina by the stalk.. near the base and pull it from the rock.. kinda slid your finger under the base as you pull and it will free it up..

or you can just put rubble rock near the colony, in a few weeks you'll notice that a stalk has started to grow on the new rock...cut away and you have a nice frag.

when i cultivated mine, i got a bathroom soap washer and used the netting, some stainless steal scissors and some tiny rubberbands left over when i had braces. heres what i did
1. cut the stalk.
2. hold it infront of the powerhead for a few seconds to get the " goo " off.
3. find a rock with a little indent in the middle of it.
4. place the stretchy netting over the xenia. ( leave a little room so your not squishing it ).
5. add the rubberbands so there are no oppenings around the rock.
6. wait a week and look at the rock threw the glass to see if u can see the stalk attached.
7. cut rubberbands and u should have a healthy frag.

Mines seem to spread on its own I just add rocks next to them and they just jump right on it. I had my xenia for 3 weeks and now I can see it starting to multiply.
