Cutest Blenny Picture!

Thanks to all for the kind words..
I realized today just how much of the time I look at my tank I spent waiting for our blenny to come out and entertain us.
I wish I knew what killed him - he looked healthy, no aparent diseases or swim bladder problems. He was choking on his food for quite a while, and it seemed to be getting worse, so possibly a throat cancer or inflamation?
He quit moving his eyes around towards the end, and one of them looked empty.. I don't know how to explain it. I don't think he was blind because he didn't seem to have trouble finding his way around. I can't help but wonder if it was the flatworms... please do yourself a favor and treat these asap when you see them.. flatworm exit would have been fatal at the populations I had, so I was stuck buying a nudibranch, which I didn't want to do until we move to the new house.
The water seemed OK, though we don't test for phosphates- just ammonia, nitrates, trites, and ph. The other fish seem ok... The coral had started drooping a month or so ago and so we resumed religious water changes.
I hope there was nothing else I could have done to save our little baby!

some fish get goiters and things like that... sometimes its not one particular thing, but a combination of things and sometimes nothing at all.... and to be repetative, just dont feed to much and keep up with water changes... sorry about your loss, i love my blenny

Goiters? So if I had put in iodine it would have helped him with that??

You should name that rock in honor of him. Fort Hephestes haha

Ah, a bicolor blenny. We have one too, our little Dionysos actually got along very well with the LMB.. their homes were like 2 inches apart. Dionysos is a little coward though, he runs from everyone that so much as looks at him, never comes out of his hole for more than a few seconds. Cute picture!

They're omnivores, you know.. if he ignores algae flakes you might try some blood worms, ours loves them.

LMB are herbivores, I was talking about the picture of the bicolor blenny. I wish I had a video or pictures of our LMB when we put meat in the tank - he'd come charging out, plowing into the other fish like Dino into Fred Flinstone (as he always did at mealtime). Then he'd gobble up a worm or brine shrimp and spit it out in disgust, then he'd go hide in his home and pout. It was so cute!

Come on, I know lots of people have a little "puppy-dog" blenny who's cute and would love to have his picture on here. I'm very pleased about this thread turning into a blenny fan club, now let's see more blenny pictures!
