Yup...I turn my circulation and my skimmer off whenever I use it. I like for it to settle for a while in the display before the circulation is turned back on and it causes my skimmer to absolutely go nuts!!!

great stuff. skimmer off, i leave the pumps on so it floats around. i just wave the end of the bar in the tank a couple of times and put it back in the freezer in a zip loc. very easy.

If you're using freeze dried cyclopeeze as I am, soak whatever you want to use overnight in RO/DI water so they don't float much so they won't get sucked to the sump. I have to use freeze dried unless I wanna pay $25 shipping.

I recently started to use a syringe to feed my riccordias this stuff to see what happens. I tried it once so far and observed the following: At fist they tightened up, but I could see the mouths of the ric's open up, somewhat like an anemone when it eats. A day after they were fuller and more puffed up. This has proved to be a really tricky, and trying method because these two ric's of mine are located near 5 anemones where the clowns make there home and they don't want me anywhere near them, gets to be annoying when they bite me, so I have to use some plastic tongs to hold the syringe while I use another plastic wand to press the syringe. Its like using large chop sticks.

I use a syringe and attach a length of fine tubing to the end. It allows me to get the feed near the anemone without having to get my arms wet past the elbows. One push and the work is done.

Don't take my word for it, but I don't believe that clams eat copepods.

im preety sure they do cause my lfs feeds there reef tanks only with cyclopeeze and they have clams in it

I've heard baby clams should be fed phytoplankton such as DT's, as of how to feed the DT's I've heard different things such as some people spot feed them and put a container on top of the coral so the plankton can't get out, some also say you shouldn't spot feed them. Adult clams should be fine with light only assuming you have appropriate MH's.

I took the syringe and rubberband it to a 1/2 dia piece of pvc pipe, pointed it right at the target and took another 1/2 dia. pvc pipe and pushed the plunger down with it. Worked great. :thinking:

why not just take a salifert type syringe and put a clear flexible tube on the end of it, it should fit without anything to hold it on
