Agree with srfisher17, throw it in a media bag in an area whe the water will flow through it. I would not even bother with the test kits at this point though. You know you have a problem with diatoms and without other algae problems it is probably silicates.
LOl...You should know by now...I ALWAYS want YOUR opinion....
THANKS...I will put some in tonight...
p.s. Do you think if I hang the bag in front of a spray bar that will be enough flow???

Wait what tank is this going into? Probably be better like a carbon bag of filter floss placement where it has the display water running though it before it goes to the whatever type of filter you have. Spray bar is like the return, no?

It's going into the 54g horse tank....I have a Cascade canister...I am not sure how I would do what you are saying,.....
Do you think I should open the canister and put the stuff in there???

Just a bit of trivia: cyno isn't algae, its a bacteria, that's why it can be eliminated so easily with various products. A very controversial issue. IMO, its fine to use a cyno eliminator once in a (very long) while; if it returns, then find the problem

What feeds the Cyano bacteria?

one word of caution-DO NOT use ferric iron oxide-based media in your seahorse tank. because they have a closed gill system, this can clog thier gills and reduce oxygen levels.
example you can use chemi pure but not chemi pure elite. Just be sure to check the labels.

Fe(OH)3 (Ferric oxide hydroxide) = okay
Fe3+ (Ferric hydroxide, Ferric iron hydroxide, etc.) = not okay
Hang on I'll go look

ok The box does not have any ingredients, so i dont know whats in it.
renee often researches products - maybe give her an pm.
You can use phosban in your tank, maybe try that in your canister filter first.
