cycle question.

I recently started an 75g reef tank. I have about 100 lr and 100 ls. Its been cycling for about 4 weeks. I tested the water and it seems like the cycle is over. My amm.= 0, trites.= 0, trates= 0, ph= 8.2, and my sg is 1.024. I haven't have an diatom outbreak, so is my cycle over yet?

More than likely. You may still get diatoms though. Have you had any blue/green algae yet? Did you have any amm or trites previously?
Again, more than likely, you are cool to start adding things slowly...

No, i do not have blue/green algea. Yes, my amm rised and then my trites followed shortly. I ghost fed it with an raw shrimp also when I started.

Ok, you are good to go. Just do it slowly. Do you have a clean up crew yet? If not you could start with that. Or a hardy fish like clown, cardinals, psuedochromis, etc. Do you have a potential stock list?

nope, no cuc yet. i wanted to make sure i was done with my cycle before i added anything. this is my first reef tank and i have no idea about any corals or reef i should start with. my light setup is an coralife w/ two mh lights, to compact lights and moonlights. i was told that this was good enough for a reef tank.

Ok, technically this is true. Your actually cycle may not be done for a while, but it is "cycled" and IMO you could start adding some things....

I cycled my 75 with a raw shrimp and left it in until the amonia came back down to zero then took it out. After that, I watched the trites and trates then once they leveled out to where they should be, I let it set for another week then added a few fish. Been up and running for 3 months now and doing great. Good luck!!

The life of your tank is one continuous cycle.....

Oh, I thought you were talking about algae blooms and pH consistency.... not the continuous cycle in a closed system as a whole...
