You say that like.. eh, it's nothing at all.... I wish I had that ability!
So what ideas do you have for your 220? Another in wall setup?
LOL, well Hef, it wasn't like I put a 6 foot hole in the existing wall....i built the frame and put drywall up....can be just as simple to tear it down if the buyers don't want it...besides I want that 135 as my sump/fuge/frag tank...so it is pretty simple. Tear it down and patch up the original wall...
whew...ideas for the 220....well I am going to keep my 250 w mh 20 k bulbs...I am going to drill the tank and put 5 holes in it for a closed loop...I am planning on getting a reeflo hammerhead and an ocean's motion 4 way for that system. I will then use the mag 18 I already own for the return to push two sea-swirls.....so we are looking at 5800 gph (hammerhead) and 1800 gph (less head loss) for a maximum total of 7600 gph / 34.5 turnover ratio5 turnover ratio
I don't think it will be another in wall...because the house we have already lined up is a rental....the guy (father's friend) wants to sell the house, so we will see what how it looks before I decide to buy. If we are going to buy it, it very well may be another in wall display...if not, I plan on making a stand and canopy for it.
I am thinking of going with a deep sand bed (5") because my closed loop with be done low in the back of the tank with pvc pipes running along the base of the tank and lock lines coming out for water exit. And although the aquascaping on my 135 was okay, it had lots of holes for fish to dart in and out of...I am wanting a more open swimming area for the fish this time. So I opted to go with a three island type of set up, allowing for more swimming room for my friends....
I am also thinking of an
aggressive / semi-aggressive reef
. I tried doing a search on here but came up blank. I do know that I want a large angel. And yes to all of those who are going to respond, I know the angels tend to nip a corals. THe reading I have been doing says that the four I am considering will eat softies and LPS, but tend to leave SPS and other noxious corals alone when fed properly. I am looking (in this order) at getting a Blue Face (I know I am pushing this one, as it said they need 300 gallons on this site), Emporer, Annularis, or Majestic.
The other two fish I have a really strong itch for are the achilles and powder blue tangs....but these are all ideas right now....we'll see what happens when I get down to SA and settled in...that plays a big role in things.
But I am already excited....and will more than likely start another diary and leave this one alone at that time.
