Sorry boys, been out of town on a business trip. Last night replaced my existing filter media with a full unit of chemipure elite and a small bag of purigen. I kept in the chaeto and phosban and did my usual swap out of filter floss. Also did about a 4 gallon water change. In the next month I want to do a DIY auto top off system. I also got a pretty large colony of a neon green flower pot that is pretty cool. Just gotta get a couple small heads of aiptasia off of the rock. I should be able to do a FTS before I head to Havasu tonight. I got the Sunpod 150w MH light in place of the stock pc's. Its been excellent since I swapped it out last saturday. Thanks Neil for the heads up about the other stores. Maybe next weekend I'll hit up some of the other stores.

I was kind of wondering where you dissapeared off to, thought you'd be posting alot with all the excitingness in your tank.
I still need to get some purigen and was considering getting a thing of phosban (doesn't chaeto remove phosphates too though?) I may wait and see if my miniscule cyano goes away now that I have a refugium in my second chamber.
Glad the stores worked out. Have fun in Havasu. The flower pot sounds cool

yea Chaeto should consume nitrates and phosphates but for some reason my phosphates were staying a lil high and thats why i got the phosban. It is supposed to be used in a phosphate reactor but i figured it chilling in the chambers was better than nothing. I'll probably check levels sunday night.

sorry the pictures are pretty crappy but you get the jist. the colors are not given justice though

Just got some frogspawn and rearranged the tank a little bit. I will post a pic in a little when everything is open. Hopefully get a blenny soon, maybe tomorrow. Stoked that because of a clip on fan my mh isn't heating up the tank too much. However the evaporation rate is absurd. Oh well. Diggin my tank now that 3 months after purchase got corals in it and they are all thriving. Neil and Mark let me know what you think of the new configuration. Have a great weekend everyone!

And yeah those clip on fan work awesome, but the evaporation does suck. I have to top off about a gallon a day. Soon i think i will Need a ATO

Ok so I didn't check out the pics before I loaded them so the FTS is pretty shitty but you can at least get the gist of the new setup. The other pic is the new frogspawn and a combo frag that I'm not sure what it is. If you guys can ID the green thing next to the zoas let me know. Also if you can tell from the picture what type of zoas that would be cool too.

I forgot to ask does anyone have any advice on keeping a flowerpot. I found out after I bought it that they usually only last 6 months in home aquariums. Thanks!

hey buddy, the pictures look great. How many heads do you have on your torch? It looks like it's fully acclimated now.
I was considering getting a frogspawn. See if I have the room next time I look into anothe purchase. The green thing with the zoas, maybe its a ricordia, or a similar mushroom. Hard to tell from the pictures, is it soft and flowly, or hard?

So i get my brothers slr to take pictures tonight but my goddamn fan is turned off so my water is at 89. Luckily now its back to 80 and its all good but I didn't take the pics. Hopefully I'll take some tomorrow and all the corals look presentable. Did a 3.5 gallon water change Sunday I think.

Yea the fan and MH are on a timer that has dual outlets. My chaeto light is on another timer, and the moonlights are on another timer. I took some pics last night with the SLR that I will post tonight hopefully. My laptop doesn't read the card so I have to have my brother burn me a copy of the pictures then I'll put them up. I got an offer accepted on a house finally so I may not be adding much stuff to the tank until I move in about 4 weeks. I did see a black slug looking creature in the tank as the lighs turned on. He quickly hid under my button polyps. Any ideas on what that is?

I have some "slug" looking things, that have a shallow shell on them. I forget the name of them, but they aren't a bad thing last time I checked. Good algae cleaners.
I probably wont' be adding anything the next few weeks. I usually go to the LFS every weekend though, regarldess of if I buy anything, haha
Good to hear on the house
