OMG....I just got home from work and one of my clowns (the female) is dead in the 225G
I have had this fish since the beginning......and it was FINE this morning when I left
Do you think the "male" will be okay w/o it's partner? IDK if I should do anything because they were a pair.....

I'm heartbroken
I do have a single clown in the 29G.......I could add it.....or not......THIS STINKS

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear this.

The male will be OK without the partner. How big is the clown in the 225 in relation to the one in the 29? If one is noticeably larger, I would keep them together.

The clown in the 225 is almost 3"........the one in the 29G is 1 1/2 MAYBE 2
I just would hate to risk anything.......
I read that clowns average 3-5 years in captivity.......have you read that?????

the male clown you currently have will turn into a dominant female if you live him without a female for long enough.
I agree with Bang, also.

Sorry for the loss Meowzer! I always sucks when you lose a fish! It would def get another clown. one much smaller of course.

I agree with Bang. My goldstripe maroons from college are at least 10 years old now. The male will be fine without the female. If you add a smaller juvenile clown the male will change gender to a female and you will have a pair again. The smaller the better when it comes to pairing them.
