You triggered my memory from long ago. Like others here when I had a fresh water tank I used a window screen to cover the top. For fish that are likely to jump when feeding because this is how they capture live food in the wild. You can have a screen made with a Plastic Screen Wicket door. A wicket is an opening that allows easy access to casement or awning window operator. You install your own wire into the wicket to match the rest of the screen. This hinged wicket has a snap-type latch for secure closure. Can be installed along any section of the screen frame. So if you made a small opening with a hinge that can be latch good you should stop any jumpers. Add more then one if needed to do maintenance.
I will look up hinged wisket....thanks

I think my point is a small door in your top will reduce the chance of a jumper committing sushi...

U may be able to get 7 but idk depending on ur system and wats in it! I love my blue-green chromis! Ive contemplated about getting rid of one of my other fish and getting 2 more chromis lol...but not gonna happen...old sayn, if it aint broke dont fix it...

I think I can do 7 easy. I have the Aquaripure and an awesome skimmer. LOL...7 of those will equal the dirty poo of a single tang. If they really stick together.... a school of bright blue fish would be pretty cool....

It is a de-nitrate filter...basically vodka dosing without the hassle. With vodka dosing you need a really good skimmer and increase the vodka or decrease all the time and keep a close eye on everything. With the Aquaripure, you hook it up...wait three days for it to cycle...inject from a syringe with no needle, a certain amount of vodka (my medium takes 8ml and the small takes 4ml) once each week. Thats it. It never needs to be cleaned, have media changed, nothing else. Best of all it works, it really works.
Next cash flow...I will get me a school of little blue fish

they are kinda brown, but mine has gold and a nice pattern of tiny light spots. lol They are small and not a real open water swimmer.
What about a toby puffer, lol there are several kinds - The blue spot are pretty. The ones I had were coral safe and never bothered other fish, they did take out a few snails though. I just bought them in bulk and would replace them as needed. lol

I looked up that little puffer, he is pretty cool looking. The ID said they nip at other tank mates.....With the aquaripure, I have no visible algae in the 90g...I have been taking rocks from the 30g for the algae eating fish, they have been cleaning them up real nice. Otherwise I have to put out algae sheets. So I don't really need the snails and hermits if it ate them. LOL..I have some time to decide. I spent a small fortune on the new tank.

It is hard to deal with a loss though that comes for almost anything and you should expect that are always a glass away from dying so you have to be ready. Though in the case, it would be a lot tougher as you had no idea.
I think that when you really are sure with this hobby, there would be nothing to stop you from getting a new one and live another day. You would not be assured that the new one will stay for good but at least for the time being, you have something to take care of.

I've had five or six Midas Blenny's. They all eventually jumped. I just keep replacing them because I really like them. I have an open backed hood with eggcrate across the hole in the back. The eggcrate doesn't seem to be too much of an obstacle for them.
