i guess i am the only person speaking from experience here, my 2 daughters were molested by my ex husband he got 19 years total and he is eligible for parole after 4 years which is this past december luckily they denied him at the first hearing , he is in a special wing of the prison and never mixed in with the general population , he gets 3 meals a day, cable and his own personal cell , not to mention the fact that he doesnt have to pay restitution to my girls or child support for our son. these a55holes have it made. your right GROUPERG all the dems can think about is ''that poor guys rights have been violated'' ...what about our kids rights ? whats going to happen when shawn- my ex does get out? what if he does it again? and how many times to how many kids would he have to do that to before they get a clue ?

If...if they put these monsters in prison general population, there should be special allowances allowed to other cons who take these scum out. Say...a few cartons of cigarettes and a turned cheek.
Most of us adults here have kids, boys and girls. And the new legislation does not differentiate between gender. Personally I feel that sick freaks should be weeded out of the breeding pool. Period.
Heck, I feel if you have been caught stealing more than twice..off with your head. If one doesn't realize it's wrong after 2....take 'em out. Cut my friggin' tax burden.

With some of the recent decisions by this supreme court, the founding fathers are surely spinning in their graves.

well,
the rest of the post, statement, court descision, doesnt matter. they are WRONG.
how do I say all baby rapers must die without seming crass? ahhh who cares. this is a case of definite execution. I dont jump in on political threads often and I dont try to show right versus wrong in politics, but the court that decides against death for baby rapers is not a court I will ever hold faith in.
you want to keep a baby raper alive? oh is baby raper too extreme a word for a person that rapes a child?
are they in need of some humanity? I'm voting with a bullet on this one. put 1
in my cross-hairs.

As parents, it's really important for us to know who has access to our kids. Especially, with day care, preschool and school we need to get to know the people who are with our kids. I'm not worried about strangers, they have zero access to my kids -- it's the people they interact with everyday who you need to worry about and if you have any kind of suspicion you need to look into it.

I wasn't going to chime in on this thread but I was reading the article and this quote really scared me...wth are our justices thinking????
Alito also wrote that the majority ruled against the death penalty "no matter how young the child, no matter how many times the child is raped, no matter how many children the perpetrator rapes, no matter how sadistic the crime, no matter how much physical or psychological trauma is inflicted and no matter how heinous the perpetrator's criminal record may be."

I am ashamed to say, that I know someone in prison right this minute for child molestation. He's been in prison for...about 8 years now and his fellow inmates have no idea why he's there. He said, it's a "don't ask don't tell" environment.
So, he isn't getting justice ther either. He's getting free meals and a warm bed, and a TV AND a cooler!

If there actually WAS a consequence, there would be less of that sort of crime, but I guess that's not gonna happen in my lifetime.

But yes, if my daughter told me it happened to her, I would confront the accused. I would not ask why, I would not try to rationalize, I would shoot him.

Folks,
The truely scarry thing about this whether you are left or right is that we have Supreme Court justices substituting their judgement and opinions in place of our elected officials. It is not their place to second guess the will of the people or the actions of our elected officials. It is to judge whether or not the action taken is allowable under the constitution.
Another point this idiot Kennedy made is that nobody had been executed for an act that hadn't resulted in a fatality in over 50 years. So what? Remember all the talk of Stari Decisis during the last round of court nominations? The court has allowed the death penalty for things a lot less serious than this since the first court.
I am one of those who would be down with eliminating the death penalty if the politicians would stand up to the ACLU morons and make prison an unpleasant experience again.
Think about it. For lifers, no TV, No smut books, no visitation. Just a cell.

I understand there are issues with the death penalty. mistakes are made, people are coerced into confessions - I understand that, I do. But I think prison is not the answer. it drains the innocent of money and provides opportunity for so many rediculous things - it IS cruel and unusual, especially with all the rapings and murders and gangs and drugs running rampant in there. What ever happened to accountability? I say we bring back hard labor. make 'em WORK for our tax dollars.
