That full tank shot is awesome. I'm just coming back to nano world :) and it's good to see you're still here.
You mind listing what you currently use on a routine basis and indicate how often you use it (salt, calcium, buffer, carbon, phosban, etc)?
Thanks, sorry it took me so long to answer your question. I use water from my LFS for water changes every week. A day after my water change I test for pH, calicium, dKH, and check the salinity. If everything is where it should be I don't add any additives, but if I need to increase the calcium or pH would add the necessary additives. I do run a filter for a day after waterchanges to polish the water and pick up what ever I couldn't during the water change, and it only has carbon in it. Good luck with your tank.

I finally got a tail spot blenny. I had been looking for one for a long time, but they are really hard to find in my area. He is such a cutie with a great personality.

WOW.That is a great pic...I might rethink my choice of Blenny for my 29...I was thinking Midas cause SWF doesn't have the tailspot....hmmm...I wonder if they can get one...If not I'll stick with the Midas Blenny

May I ask what lens you're using? I could swear I remember something about an 18-55mm somewhere earlier in the thread but if you're still using it you must have some wicked lens sample. I'd be shocked if one could maintain any sort of focus (accurate or otherwise) at the range you have to be at to take those pictures.
I would say some of your coral shots could benefit from a less narrow depth of field but your lighting is amazing. I'm really curious what you're taking them under and if you're doing any light manipulation or post processing. I have to put in a ton of effort under my fugly 250w 15,000k CoralVues. :(

Lauren,
Does your coco worm ever stay retracted after a big meal? I have a red/white striped worm and for the last week or so, it hasn't opened up. could it be adding to it's tube?
Gorgeous tank, as per your usual.

What happened to your swissguard?
And what is your fish and invert list?
P.S. I got a tailspot the other day and he is now my favorite fish of all time.

Hahaha well after seeing your photos of the tail spot blenny I had to have one. So last weekend called around and found a lfs that had 3 of them 24.99 each so I picked one up.
Mine has a few stripes of white down its body tho. Hahaha now if I can just find a store that has half the corals you find at your lfs.. I love the new stuff.. Your tank is breath taking like always.. My dream tank with all that color!!!! someday!!!

im curious what kinda lighting brings out the tank like that? is it the actinics? or something anyone? ur coral not only look bright but its like everything is dark an ur coral glow.

The SPS is doing great and I'm seeing a lot of growth on the bosai.
I dose calcium, but I haven't noticed any major decrease.

I am so getting a tail spot. That thing is awesome looking. How big is he right now?
P.S. He looks hungry
He's really tiny, not even 2 inches. He looked kind of hungry when I bought him. He eats a tiny bit of everything, but he doesn't eat a lot.I just started feeding him formula 2, so hopefully he'll start plumping up.

I am using the stock 18-55mm, but I am using a 10x macro filter to get the real close up shots. I hope to get a real macro lens some time in the future. The reason they are shot in such a narrow depth of field is because I don't have a tripod at the moment so I need to use a short shutter speed to eliminate any camera shake.

Thanks! Mine does that too, but it eventually opens up. I don't know why they stay retracted for a while from time to time.

I use a 14k phoenix bulb in my fixture with no actinics. The bulb really brings out the colors of my corals!

Do the Mandarin and Tailspot play nice together? You may see some aggression from the Tailspot towards the Mandarin some time down the road.
