DeMartini's ADA Reef

I'm being for real... a hob skimmer would ruin the look of the ADA for sure... worse than a HOB overflow box and sump with a utube return. I know I wouldn't want to yank a bunch of stuff just to take pics and "lead people on." Well maybe I would... I still want a 1gallon aquavase with "invisible" overflow and return and a 10gallon sump lol.. "how is it stable? no heater? no skimmer? no carbon? no flow? wth?"

can you drill an ADA? if so, why not drill it and use clear pvc, its hard to find, but you can find it, to plumb everything :p

I'm not going to keep the skimmer on all the time. I'll just put it on for a couple nights a week.

drilling isn't an option now lol I wouldn't want to crack the tank either.

y isnt it an option now? yeah, you got rock an water in it, ok, just drain it far enough down so your holes u drill wont immediately start spewing water, and plumb everything up lol if you do it right, an that is, get the sump built, sealed an cured, get it set in place, get all your piping up to where its got to go an what not, you can do it all in one day, no problem at all

drillin aint no biggie... I watched a guy do it to my tank... can't be too hard.. just don't use an old and cheap hole saw... and set the clutch on the lowest setting so the drill will stop very easily if the saw gets stuck. my tank was done in 20minutes or less... it seemed like a long time because I was staring in agony...

I'm not going to take a chance... I would be so mad if my tank cracked.

not a fish tank, but, ive drilled struts, water tanks for pastures, ive helped build a 1200g tank that was used for my stepdads cow farm, we plumbed it after we filled it with water, now let me tell you, that was NOT fun at all, cause, he didnt listen to me when i told him, but, david, you gotta drain some of the water out before we drill this hole in the middle of the side of the tank, BIGGGG mess, but, yes, ive drilled lots of tanks/barrels/whatnot, that are full of water or oil. i used to work in the hydraulic hose industry, 12 years experience, woot LOL, and have done numerous installations that required me to drill a customers bulk oil tank that was full of oil, since, they dont want it pumping out of the top of the tank like we recommend, noooo, dont listen to the experts, we want you to attach the pump to the side of the tank, yeah, now you got 100 gallons of oil all over the ground genius, cause u wouldnt listen to us
