Hey guys I have a question about a Derasa Clam that I bought a few months back. My LFS that I bought it from said he needed to sit up straight but the clam after a few days wants to sit on his side and I keep seting him up right. my question is do I need to really need to keep setting him up right?

OH NO......Derasa should be on the sand.....

Does it open all the way? Have you ever tried just leaving it alone to see what it does?

No I keep setting it back up right should I leave it alone it does open up when it is on it's side that is why I asked my LFS guy told me that it wasn't good for him to be on it's side...Should I just leave him alone for a while and watch him??

I'm no expert, but I have to wonder if constantly messing with it is making it mad...LOL

I'd leave it...and watch it....

I have a Maxima that refuses to stay upright no matter what I do.

I'd leave it for a day or two and see what happens. Your LFS is right, they are supposed to be upright, but they don't like to be irritated either.

I would try moving it to a different spot in the sand, the flow in the area where you have it may be bothering it.

What type of lights do you have? How deep is the tank?

I have a WavePoint High output T5 4 Lamp system in a standard 90 gallion tank If that helps.

Ok, so it's not the lights that are bothering it.
I'd just leave it be and see how it does.
You might just have to move it to a different spot, sometimes the flow bothers them, but moving it will bother it more.
