Sounds like a plan. I was just making sure that you had read somewhere that the Bi-colors could have a hard time in a tank. Hope all goes well for you, and just ignore some of the people on here as many have transformed from "Tang Police" to "Tang Nazi" and constantly bash people for buying a tang. I guess some people just cant have any sort of authority or they abuse it. Hey Good luck!!!

x2, definitely sounds like a plan. I have a halide fixture over my 125 and have yet to regret it. 2 150watt HQI halides over a 120 won't be enough to have to worry about heat being an issue.
Keep us updated and be sure to post some pics!

This is your opinion and I believe that you need to just answer the question that is being asked, and stop pushing your opinion onto the OP. If you look through Fenner's book "the Consciencous Marine Aquarist" you would find multiple cases of him stating that many tangs can live suitable lives in a tank at a minimum of 75 gallons. I dont believe I have ever seen a 75 gallon tank that was 6 foot long, so there for your opinion is that, an opinion and is in no way scientific fact. I am not condoning this behavior in any way (putting a tang in a 75) but I am saying that you shouldnt belittle someone or refuse to help them because their opinion does not match with yours. If you have any information on Convict Tangs then please, by all means, give the information. If not then please let the OP wait for someone that does so you do not clutter the posts and make them hard to follow. Thanks...
Aside from my "hissy fit" comment, when was I belittling the OP? If anything, I was attacked through the CAPS and !!! prior to anything. If trying to inform someone of a possible problem prior to making a purchase is belittling someone, then I guess that is what most everyone on this site does (I don't believe this to be true)

Yeah, I believe that the halides will be fine, even with lids, but we will see. I may have to compensate for lack of O2 exchange from the DT.

Let's all just move on, please.

With a sump and skimmer you will have plenty of o2 exchange. If it were me, I would look into having the cabinet guy build a canopy for the tank though. Love the way mine looks...

I didn't mention it, but I will have a 13" canopy as well (the stand will be 36"). I think they are a must for completing a free-standing tank.

So you'd run the glass flip tops under the canopy? If so, I would definitely ditch them and just add screen or gutter guard to the back of the canopy to keep the fish in.

Not a bad idea, since the canopy will have a piano hinge for full front opening. I was going to run the lids to help control evaporation.
