That's true, but what I am saying is that they don't campaign for the black vote, but the ploy they used last year to mislead blacks was the ban on gay marriage to capture that vote. If that issue had not been part of the ballot I think the results would be different. And I think that Rice and Powell were chosen because there was no one better. Powell could be President right now if he wanted it.. What do you think about Powell leaving the cabinet and what does that say for the Bush Admin or Powell?

Many of the people who are on welfare probably don't vote. I'd say at least half...without looking at any data...and people on welfare includes those outside of the inner city who live in trailer parks and gov't supported housing. So basically I disagree with the statement...
Many republicans don't go after the minority vote with the assumption they won't get it anyway.
Couldn't agree more! Just look at the county map for the last election!

I have no facts for this but I believe Powell left because he disagreed on how Iraq was handled...before and after invasion.

When I look at the polls they do of Americans sometimes, I really think it doesn't matter whose running because over half the people voting don't have a clue what's going on in the world. I saw one the said the viewers of the Daily Show were best informed of any network and they are fake news for christ's sake! CNN and Fox watchers were really uninformed and misled. Look at how many people thought Iraq caused 9/11, that we found WMDs and that bin laden and Saddam were the same thing. Whoever has the best campaiging wins, I'm a liberal and really don't like any of the democrats running because none will give a set answer for any of the problems facing the US other than they are "going to change it". Ok, how?
