What about the AquaC Remora??? Under $200 w/shipping and surface skimmer attachment....

Those of you who have not heard of octopus/pacific coast you just arent up to the time. they have been popular and around for some time and excalibur has been around even longer. Excaliburs used to be good performers for the money (they were inexpensive) but they cant compare to the performance/price ratio of whats available now. Octopus/Pacific are known performers and since ASM raised their prices have pretty much filled that niche (cheaper knock offs of well known higher end skimmers).
I can assure you the octopus skimmer in question (picture below) will run circles around a CLSS65 AND probably out perform the CLSS125 (which I have and like). That goes tripple for an AquaC remora.
Pacific coast/octopus has become nearly as famous for their euroreef recirc knock offs as ASM had become for their Euroreef non recirc knock offs which was great for people who were modding ASMs into recircs because it was still cheaper than a Euroreef or deltec recirc. The PC/Oct offered the same thing without the hack job or warranty voiding.

the only reason I dont have that skimmer is because the footprint is too big for the space I have in my sump and the only reason I dont have the recirc is because the price jumped before I could get it and it cost double that of the CLSS. I was on a budget.

LOL I have a coralife skimmer nor did I give a link to buy it to profit from it. Do me a favor and search Stanlalee in advanced search and keyword octopus and see how many times I have tried to sell octopus or mentioned it without provication.

No offense but its funny how you endorse AquaC with such conviction and have NO CLUE of what your talking about. AquaC has great costumer service and the EV series are performers but Remoras and Urchins are the most overpriced, UNDERPERFORMING (for the money) skimmers on the market. they are only good for small and light duty tanks and if you ever bothered to visit their site they basically state the same thing. Just because YOU dont know of Octopus and you chose to recommend products on name recognition doesn't give you the right to call it junk. I guess I should have told you the price range for octopus recirc skimmers are $300-600. Perhaps thats your measuring stick to whats junk and whats not (or is it just recognizing names you know

You fail to address the fact that the original poster asked about SPECIFIC skimmers which is why I recommended the octopus unlike you who probably endorse AquaC like they pay you everytime someone ask about a skimmer. I actually answered his question. You basically could not answer his question if you wanted to so you endorse what you think to be good. Who's really selling products and if I were at least I'd be getting something out of it.
Other skimmers BESIDES Octopus (since I'm selling it)that perform circles around the AquaC remora and pro for around the same or less money: Coralife Superskimmer (any model), ASM (any model), Pacific Coast Imports (this is octopus's sister brand but you wouldn't know any better. 90% of their models), Turboflotor 1000 or multi, Catalina Vortex (same as coralife but you knew that too)
and for the record every skimmer on his list (which you have heard of none) except perhaps the excalibur OUTPERFORM the AquaC. He obviously cared to do a little more searching than you and will probably have twice the skimmer you do for alot less money.
PS: you'd be real pissed if I posted the -- links (the so called mecca of saltwater experts and accepted oppinions) on the general consensus of AquaC remoras. Probably make you toss yours and run out and get whatever they say is the hot skimmer now. I actually DO recommend AquaC remoras and R Pros for people who want a trouble free hang on back skimmer for a small tank 75 gallons or less (but I dont push it on anyone asking about a specific brand). My only issue with the Remora's are performance to price ratio. this is not three years ago when the only other options under $200 were seaclones, skilters and red sea. there are real and better value alternatives NOW.

on that list i would go with the octo... i have a tf1000 that u just switched out 10 days ago for a octo.. dont get me wrong i lik my tf1000 ( it's rated for like 220 gals but i say it's maxed out for a 180..) only reason why i got the octo was because i got SUPER good deal on a monster!!! octopus rps-3000 ... it's 5x bigger the the tf1000 and can skim like no tomarrow ... octopus skimmers are a great bang for the buck again, of all that is listed i would go with a octopus...
