Had direct, switched to dish, now back with direct. Dish just does not cut it. We used to loose signal strength more and loose the signal period with dish....It usually needs to be pretty darn bad out for us to loose it with direct, but even then its only for a minute or so. Simple storms here made dish loose the signal for long period of time.....

We swithched to Dish network because Comcast just plain sucks IMO they love to nickle and dime you to death and were always deceptively raising their rates. I like Dish network, the service has been good and no problems with reception either. Id recommend them.

We have dish and hate it, everytime there is a storm we loose signal for at least 5 minutes. We are thinking about switching to direct.

i have dish. and i HATE it! i used to have digital and direct and they are both better than this piece of crap. all it takes is a thick fog for it to lose its signal. we're in the process of getting rid of it

the dish is garbage, they do NOT have FOX network in "my area", and after missing most of playoff baseball and having to go to friends house for superbowl i dumped them for direct Tv. Got a free DVR and now i can record MOST shows, It seems to pick and choose when to start recording and NEVER recorded any "survivor" episodes
, had trouble during "the amazing race"
and WILL NOT start a recording for "Big Brother"
. ...DTV must be biased against reality tv eh?

The advertisers are trying to splice their annoying commericials into the regular programing script so that it will be harder to skip them with a DVR, i.e Tivo. I cant stand commercials, radio or TV ones. Does satellite radio provide commercial free programing? sure wish satellite TV did.

for those people that loose their signal alot. wouldn't it be because the installers didn't install it right. we used to live in alabama and when a huricane hit our signal would stay strong.
IF YOU GO TO "POINT DISH". AND IF IT'S OVER ONEHUNDRED i THINK THAT THERE SHOULD NO REASON FOR THE SIGNAL TO LEAVE.
AND THEY DON'T HAVE ALOT OF SPORTS CHANNELS EITHER.

I've had Cox cable, Direct and now have Dish. If HD is important to you, go with Dish.

Yeah I may end up making a DVR from an old computer so that I can skip commercials, such a waste of time.

I'm getting ready to upgrade to HD. I currently have DirecTV. Other than Dish having the most HD channels can you elaborate why you recommend dish after having all three?
