DIY Coral Viewer

So since i'm building my frag tank from the ground up, why no build coral viewers too?

I went to Home Depot and bought a rain gutter pvc pipe attachment. I sawed off the piece into two, got some acrylic and some glue and wah-la. A coral viewer
This is the piece I bought
I sawed it into two pieces and glued acrylic to both pieces


The smudges you see are water drops on the outside glass, I had to test it lol
So $3.89 acrylic + $2.49 PVC pipe = 2 Coral viwers for $6.38
Better than paying eshopps $26 one lol

For the rim I used a hot glue gun, and for the outside seal I used silicone. When I cut the acrylic I sanded it down so it's smooth

First picture. I couldn't get the coral because the MH is so bright it reflects off the acrylic. The anemone wasn't under the light so it worked out lol

I've been looking at those cases that allow cameras to go under water because our light is too close to get any good top down shots.

I have an underwater case for my iPhone. It's the life proof and it's actually great quality underwater.

I'm going to have to look into that! I use my iPhone for most of my coal photos because our camera is too "fancy" for me, haha!

Yeah, it's been out for a while now. It's called a Lifeproof case. Its virtually indestructible lol You can throw it against the wall and your phone won't break. I've had mine for 6 months now and its great. And now with the new iPhone update you can take pictures underwater. (since now you can press the volume button to take a picture)

I need something like that! I have a habit of throwing my phone.
