I have decided to to build myself some new reflectors.Lumenbright Knock offs to be exact. The price per reflector shoud be under$30 considering i already have the mogul sockets so all i will be needing to purchase is the polished aluminum .I got the blueprint from another site already so all i need to do is have it enlarged,or re-draw it myself.
Ill post pictures as it moves forward.

Interesting DIY. I think I remember seeing this somewhere before I forget who did this. In the end you should get a par meter to compare how well this works in comparision to a storebought lumenbright reflector

Now this I wanna see...
I'm half tempted to buy you the PAR meter in exchange for a few of these.
One thing I don't have good facilities for is metalworking.

I happen to have a brother In-Law who is a VP of a company that sells rolled sheet metals and good friend who also is a exec.at a metal stamping company who happen to stamp reflective metal for some kind of signal device. So i have them working on the material for me
.I also happen to be a owner of a 10'metal break and have many friends who are tin knockers who will help in providing the snips and the hand break im sure ill be needing.
Instead of having this template enlarged i think I'm going to have to redraw it to get the dimensions correct but i don't think it should take me more than a couple of hours.
Hopefully my family or buds can locate some "free" highly reflective material soon or i will have to fork out a little bit of dough .

OK i drew up the parts to actual scale and cut them out.I'm going to mock it up with poster board first just to make sure i dont have to alter anything and i haven't received the reflective material yet. Here is what i have so far.

WOOOHOOO! The good thing about this DIY is you can make them just about any size you need to fit your particular application.
Just need a pair of tin snips and a rivet gun, some solar tube for reflective metal and WALLAH! You feel froggy after doing yours and you can make me a couple. Swap for some frags.

I might just take you up on that.I have to wait and see what kind of material this is my buddie is getting me ,but he says they stamp some sort of signal reflectors with it.Other wise I'm going to have to use some polished aluminum flat stock.Either way this worked out really nice even though it is made out of poster board and tape.It should work out much better with metal and rivets.

Have you gone through with this project yet? I just bought a couple of 175 watt industrial pendants and was going to try making my own reflectors for in a hood if I could find good plans for them.

Thanks.....I have a break I can use at work to make something like these. My original plan was to just make a 3 sided reflector (like this _/ but upside down) out of some aluminum flashing, but if those aren't too difficult to make I'll try them.

The poster board mock up was a breeze, using thin gauge polished aluminum isnt going to be much harder.Actually i think its going to be easier because it will hold a bend while assembling.

Wow, very cool. Great work
. How much you selling for?

Technically i couldnt sell it to you without breaking some sort of patent laws. But i would sell you the sharpie i drew it out with for $50 and ill give you the reflector
.
Seriously though they are really easy to build.
