hi i would like to know if i really need to buy a protein skimmer i have a penguin 150 biowheel and a small power head i am trying to go around buying it pleae help

I didn't have a skimmer on this tank for over a year and it did fine. I did do weekly water changes.

It is a 20 g. I pull down any corals that might go dry with a 5 g water change.

I have 195 W PC. 2 PHs and a back filter. I have since added a modified Skilter filter and skimmer which is sub par. I do regular water changes, so it doesn't need a filter. I have green star polyps, zoos, crocea clam, purple, green, red mushrooms, flower pot, green flat brain red green brain, brown and silver xynia, hammer, torch coral, bubble coral, colt, toadstool, montipora, yellow polyps, 2 sea horses, rg, shrimp, nemo snails, crabs, flame scallop, cleaner clam, frogspawn, orange favia, clove polyps, featherdusters and friggin bristle worms.
