i used to surf almost every day, well go to the beach every day, i always found someway to have fun. if it was windy and blown out i went sailing, if it was shore pound, skimboarding, if it was flat, i would spearfish and cook on the beach. too much fun being a beach bum in california.

I usually dive when I

fish but it all has to do with the depth. I usually go for hogfish, grouper, snapper and aj's. I usually go from 30 to 100 ft. I also like to saltwater fish. I got my own flats boat and my dads has a 24ft. shamrock for offshore. We usually catch sailfish, dolphin, kingfish, barrucuda, grouper, snapper, tuna and pretty much anything else we can find. My biggest catch was a 200lb. plus tarpon. I've caughten a lot of tuna in the 100lb. range. You freshwater fisherman got to come down here to florida next summer to my house and I'll take you out on a 16ft. flats skiff and well catch some real fish and I mean 100-200lb. tarpon on like 30lb. line. It usually takes anywhere from 1-4 hours to get one in. I fish the tarpon capital of the worrld boca grande pass. I caught a tarpon in the 125lb. range that I finnally landed about 5 miles offshore.

ok, muskie can be and are fun.. but you guys have no clue what you are missing. saying muskie is the best. i will admit they are fun.
I am a well versed fisherman and have done many types of fishing for many different species. however sw fish in general fight much better than any fw catch (pound for pund, that is).
I dont know if i can remember which was my biggest ever, but i have to say THE BEST, the most fun, and definitely the trickiest that i have ever encountered muust be saltwater fly fishing in the flats. even the smallest of bones will make the biggest of trollers smile from ear to ear. IT definitely is a completely different world. AND let's not forget the beauty. i personally don't thik i have ever seen a more beautiful fish in my hands than a bonefish, i did not even have the heart to ask my guide if the were edible so that i could sample something new. just one look at this beautiful fish and there was no contest..... she was going back inoto the water SAFELY, as did each and every subsiquent hook up.:cheer: :cheer:

Look at it like this frshwater aquariums suck compared to saltwater aquariums as to freshwater fishing sucks compared to saltwater fishing.

i wouldn't say it quite like that, some fw fishing is quite fun and sporting. i also fish for salmon, trout, cat, muskie. you name it. i will admit that ther is more beauty and fight in any sw species, pound for pound, but it really is not lame by any count. heck, i still enjoy panfishing too!
