Here are 2 pictures of my Red Brain.
1) My Original tank Lighting 2x65
2) Brian Lights On
3) MH 1x175w 14k Retrofit lighting
4) Brain Light off
The difference between the lighting is exceptional.

The difference between lights on and lights off is normal. It will not typically come out when the lights go out at night time.
If you are concerned it is not as full as it could be, we could help with that.
Is this a new addition?
How long have you had the brain?
What kind of lighting do you have?
Do you feed the brain at all? If so, what do you feed it?

Do you feed the brain at all? If so, what do you feed it? I fed it yesterday, half a cube of Cyclopleeze and half a cube of Coral food.
I answered in red

I would put the brain on the sandbed. Brains have very delicate tissue that can be injured by rock. And considering their lighting requirements, and you having yours at the top of the tank, there might be an issue there as well. I think you'll seen an improvement when you move it to the sandbed and keep feeding it the good stuff. :)

To me, the coral looks good, but not quite flourishing yet. I would account that to the fact that you have only had it for a week though. Give it some time under the conditions you have it and you should begin to see a noticeable difference.

I would move it to the sand bed, but there is a long piece of rock behind the brain...... and i might have to bury it. Its about 4 inches long.

What do you mean? The tissue looks great in the day time photos and there seems to be no tissue with the night time pics...

Ok, now i'm confused.
According to my pictures, as you can see the coral is doing exactly what I showed you. I just need an explanation about what is going on.
it opens up with the lights off and closes with the lights on.

What we are trying to ask is this:
With the night time pic, is the white coming off of it part of its hard skeleton or are they soft tentacles?

That's what mine does at night too. Totally normal.
