I use glass tanks and acyrlic baffles. Some are 8 years old. The key is to use thick acrylic. I even use little acrylic hose dividers that is constantly being beat with the flow from the tank. I have rock stacked against the baffles. It's not just luck.... I have too many tanks for it to be luck.
I asked earlier about the size of the tank because I wouldn't do this with a large sump. I have 2 - 20 gallon glass sumps.

Oh, and maybe go research the EPDM weather stripping. You may like those odds better.
Ok ok...I'm liking the stripping idea. What do you do? It seems as though the stripping has an adhesive side? I'm guessing you'd stick the stripping slide in the acrylic and then silicone it up?

Silicone is not needed. The sticky side goes to the acrylic baffle and then you lube the "rubber" with some water and press it in place. The compression will create the pressure lock.
Do you have until tomorrow to decide? Maybe hubby and I can make a little video of installing one.

Ok, I know your gonna be mad Cranberry but I gave him the go ahead to build it. He's gonna make me the cover for the top and everything custom to my piping. I go to them for everything and I think it's important to have a good relationship with the LFS and support them.
I'm gonna be upgrading to either a 125 or a 150 in the next 6 months. I'll probably opt to go DIY on the fuge for that tank. I WILL hunt you down for that video.

Thanks for all the help. I'll post pics and let you know how the final install goes.

We have a local place that does acrylic to exact sizes. I built my own 36g sump out of 3/8" acrylic for about 80 bucks. Not hard to do and would save you over 100 bucks if you feel like DIY. I have a long thread of the 77g frag tank with 36g sump made out of acrylic on here I did myself.
