your right it did look pretty lifeless... but interesting video... something tells me that the shark would be a a little more agressive rather than just sitting there like a sack of potatoes

Yeah that's a lemon. Poor thing! There is no reason to kill that perfectly healthy, happy shark. Fight it and let it go. I'd like to take those guys on the boat and try to stick a scorpion fish where the sun don't shine.

I disagree. I think if you catch ANY shark, you should either eat it or use it for chum. There are way toooooo many sharks out there. Just like saltwater catfish,......hook and chum 'em. It may sound creul, but look at the pics from the web site that was on the initial thread.

What? They serve their purpose and shouldn't be hunted and killed. I don't see harm in catch and release or even kept for consumption as long as it is within legal limits.

There are way too many people on the planet, or at least in Atlanta. Can I take them and throw em in the grinder, freeze em into blocks, and toss em in the chum bag? I respect sharks more than I respect most people. If you seriously believe what you said, you are on the wrong website. I can only hope a sizable one can help you learn a valuable lesson in respect.

True,...a shark does serve its purpose in nature's "circle of life," HOWEVER, we as humans have fallen victim to their circle. Having lived in Florida for over five years, I've seen and taken care of these victims. For geez sake, I can't even take my kids to the shallow sand bars without the greatest of concern for their lives. Yes, sharks are a excellent sport fish and quite tasty, as is tuna, mahi-mahi, marlin, etc., etc..... And I'm not saying to go out and catch as many sharks as you can and kill 'em all. There has to be some sort of population control. They have no natural enemies. There needs to be some sort of population control, as with deer.

I can't agree with you more, FISHKILLER. (What a name for this site, eh?)
I'm in the medical field and I can't tell you the number of times that we try to save someone's life, because a family member wants us to, EVEN THOUGH the patient whom we're coding has a DO NOT RESUSCITATE order or a living will. It's a shame what we do to these people. They've lived 70-75 years of a wonderful life, and we bring them back to be vegetable, dependent on a ventilator, or better yet, your and my tax dollars.
It's difficult for me to accept such harshness, FISHKILLER, of the words you said to me....."I can only hope a sizable one can help you learn a valuable lesson in respect."

Don't get me wrong. I've caught and killed plenty of makos, but we ate every last piece of meat and used the liver for chum. Lemon sharks don't have that great of food quality, but they are fun to fight. The fact that sharks pose a threat to humans will never change. You may forget that we are the most gifted animals on the planet, but we are still animals. Every animal poses some kind of threat to other species, but that is the survival mechanism at work. Some people won't feel safe until all the sharks are toast. You know what? I don't feel safe walking down the streets of downtown Atlanta, but I do it anyway. I don't shoot the downtown folk on sight because I feel threatened. Why should we pay less respect to a species older than us?
