I really think that would work. If not, you could just buy one of those clip on power compact lights to help out. I think I have seen some pics of this on the internet. Those Ecosystem hang on refuge systems are pretty much what you are describing.
Chaeto would be the best.

mmmm... sounds like a good deal. I'll look into shipping it. Does it have to be fully submerged in water to ship???

Hey I will do one better...you look into the shipping, and I will even pay for the shipping...........imagine that.........send it COD....er I mean C.O.D........had to clarify.....you might have thought about sending it wrapped in a fish or something.

at least partially i would guess
when i got mine it was fully submerged.
i don't want to look into shipping. i am asking you to do it because i am lazi!
what i can do is send each of you a tiny bag of chaetos. worry not, with proper waterflow and lighting it'll grow quickly.

Ok, I went to my lfs today, and they have had these seahorses for a while now. He told me that they definetly arent brazillian seahorses, but he thinks they are from the gulf of mexico. He did mention they are captive bred. They are black, not dwarves, about 2-3" in length, anyone know what they are?

no, that's a great idea!!!!!!! EMAIL ME MY CHAETO!!!!!!! LMAO.
a bag should do... i'm afraid it would leak, though. You could put it in a bag, and completely wrap it in tape... like packing tape or duct tape...
Or maybe we can see how truely powerful ziplock is, and send it in one of those ziplock tupperware containers...

you really need a tiny bit. like the size of a golf ball or a tennis ball. give it time and it'll grow like crazy.

12 by 12? oh that's way too big. it's more like a 4 by 4 with water and all. you really need a tiny bunch to start it. mine grow a basketball-ful every 2-3 weeks.

Smoney, color is ALWAYS secondary in identifieng a species, you need to look at number of rings, snout length, coronet size and shape, cirri, and several other factors to be sure.
oh, and one way to find out if it is CB is ask, where they bought from, and also see if when they feed em frozen mysis, will they eat it?
