Ecospheres

Has anyone ever made or bought an ecosphere? I want to make one but I'm not sure what kind of shrimp they use and I have seen some with sand and some with small rocks. Would a small live rock in a closed environment work? I saw one that had small snails to keep the glass clean. Some even used brine shrimp. I love the way they look so if anybody have any ideas please let me know.

I've tried making one using algae, Mysid Shrimp, Copepods & Stomatella Snails. It did OK for a few months but that's it.
I believe they use Red Shrimp and a brackish type of hair algae.

An Ecosphere is a self contained and self sustaining aquarium. It is sealed and usually contains shrimp and maybe a snail depending on where you get it. They look great, at least the ones you buy. They are kind of expensive but check em out at *** Link Violation ***
