Edwards funeral protest

Well I see a church is organizing a protest at Elizabeth Edwards' funeral because of her views on gays and other things. Is it me, or are people that protest funerals really scums of the Earth? Well that is what I think of them.

I think it should be illegal to punch a funeral protester in the nose. If it were up to me I would levy a two dollar fine on anyone that did that.

For me I would solve it This way. Run over their Cars and then cite them for Illegal Parking so they have no way to get around at all.

I really hate it when my post doesn’t show up..GGGRRRR
The only people these idiots hurt are the families of the ones they hate, the dead could care less. It isn’t anywhere close to free speech, it’s a hate crime and should be handled as such.
By the way Bang Guy LOL….I think it is illegal
to punch a funeral protester in the nose.

This is a church protesting??????
Ah yes, organized religion, tolerance for all that I believe but if you don't then it is the Inquisition or the Crusades.
Organized religion, something to believe in when you don't believe in yourself. BAH!

These people are not religious, they are gay bashers..Using religion to further their hate. Religion is a tool to help people search for God or to do good to fellow human beings and better oneself. These people don’t do any of that. .They give organized religion a black eye.

When Sodom and oamorrah were punished by God, it was forbidden to look at their destruction. Lest one rejoice at the destruction of sinners. For God takes no pleasure in their destruction but that they should repent and be forgiven.

It is a sin to be a physically active gay person, just as it is to be a gossip, a liar or a drunk. None of which is an unforgivable sin.

So these funeral protesters fall into the category of those who want to remove the mote from others eyes but can’t see the beam that blocks their own vision.

Now I am not going to get into a religious debate on a Satwater Forum, their are other forums out there for that and a reason I am not a member of any of them. Saying that organized religion is for those that do not believe in themselves is udder nonsense. I am Baptists and have made many lifelong friends thru my church. Together we have helped rebuild houses after hurricanes for those in need, had food drives, all sorts of things to benefit the community, and we all share our love for Christ which bonds us. It sounds like to me that you had a bad experience once, but to say that ALL organized religions are for people that dont believe in themselves is absurd. Honestly, your statement doesnt even make sense to me. Can you please explain and I will be more than happy to reply. I am all for free speech and I wouldnt have minded if you just said that "I dont believe in organized religion". That is fine, but when you start saying things like the comment about not believing in yourself, thats when you start stepping on peoples toes. I have friends that are Agnostic and Atheist, but we are all in agreement, even though we dont share the same viewpoints in each others beliefs, we never talk down to each other about them. Just saying.

LOL sorry Flower, obviously not ALL of them, but the ones that are my friends. Me and my friends know that we are good people and we are good friends, THATS what matters to us, trying to preach to them or get them to change is not something I intend to do as its not worth ruining our friendship, we just agree not to debate religion with each other. I dont feel that me trying to convert people has any influence on where I believe I will end up in the end, or hope to end up.

Now you really have me confused...an Athiest is a person who doesnot believe in God at all, an agnostic isn't sure and a Baptist claims to know God personally...so how can you guys be in agreement on religion and respect each others opinion..

No, we are NOT in agreement with each others religious beliefs, but we put that aside because we have strong bonds as friends. Sorry if there was confusion. We respect each others rights to believe in what we each want, or dont want. We just dont debate religion between each other, we have before, it was about a 3 hour argument that didnt seem like it would end. LOL

Flower I think you are digging to deep. Do I believe that one of them is damned to hell? Yes, and I have tried to preach to him, but that put our friendship in a bind. Even though I feel that he is not saved, that still doesnt mean that he inst my friend. As a Christian, I dont feel it is right to not be friends with someone just because of their religious beliefs. I may be a Southern Baptist but it is not 1940 and our preacher is not hellfire and brimstone.

LOL... We do type at the same time. I would so love to debate the "going to hell" belief but like you said it is a saltwater fish forum. I wasn't digging too deep just stating a fact on religous beliefs. I certainly understand holding to friendships and acceting folks for who they are. I have gay friends and I care for them dearly but I'm not gay nor do I sugar coat my stand on it being wrong, nontheless they are my friends.
