Why Dragon Eel Cost $1000? they are from hwaii
arent they common?

I wouldn't call them common. But the other reason for the high price is they are in high demand in the pet trade.

They are definatly not common. They say on an average in Hawaii that the ratio is about 1 dragon eel out of every 200 eels. Probably wont be long before they are no longer allowed to be taken from hawaii.

Aren't they a deepwater eel, that's why they are scarce in the pet trade? ???

When diving I've found them at about 10-15' deep.
