Hi everyone,
my plate coral is eaten by something!
Last night, before I went to bed, I checked my tank with the led light. I found some white things on my plate coral. I thought it's some sand ( I did the water change yesterday, it may blow up some sand
). But this morning, I find my plate coral show the skeleton....................

Now I know there must be something having dinner on my plate coral
.
Anyone know what is that? I believe unless I clear the eaters, my plate coral will finall die.
BTW, I had some acan 2 months ago, die in the same way. I didn't pay attation at that time.
I find some small white snails in my tank for a long time (Actually from when I throw in my LR). Some of them act weird. They like to pair up and move, look like the one body twins. I thought they are the boby turbo snails.
HELP ME~~~~

Sorry to say, but plates are VERY sensitive, and once they start showing skeleton, they usually do not recover. I lost one because a sand sifter put sand on it and irritated it...as simple as that
as far as these white things....can you get a pic?
There is a teeny white snail that will eat corals....I will see if I can locate a pic of it for you

So sad. I have my plate coral for nearly half a year.....
The white snails only come out at night and they are really tiny. Looks like the turbo snail bobies.

Try to get a pic....it may not be the snails then, it could have just been irritated by the sand then

If it's sand, I should see it now. But now, there is nothing on the coral.
I will try to get some pics tonight.
So, if plate coral start showing skeleton, is there anything I can do to make it back?
I just don't want to lose it.

I wanted to catch the stuff eating my plate coral last night, but nothing I got. I caught some small white snails and threw them in my fish only tank.
This morning, I find the plate coral looks worse

If they come out at night and look like turbos, they are probably harmless collonista snails.
If your plate is showing skeleton.... well, I've never seen one recover from that.

I just had one that I've had for more then a year. A few days ago my clown fish kicked up some sand and it was all down hill from there. They are just so sensitive. And as stated above they rarely recover this is my 3rd in the past 2 years. After the flesh goes they make nice decorations.
